Vikas Puri has these pockets of residential buildings, and we are right in one of them. It's a small place, honestly. We don't have a big reception desk or a person waiting to greet you with a smile and a brochure. Usually, we are all just busy at our desks. If someone knocks, one of us just gets up to see who it is. The flat is simple, with enough room for our equipment and a small area to sit during breaks. We chose this spot because it's easy for us to get to and it stays relatively quiet. Sometimes you hear the sounds of the street vendors outside, which is just part of living and working in Delhi. We aren't looking to impress anyone with a polished image. We just want to get the work done correctly and on time. Most of our neighbors are families, so we try to keep the noise down. It’s a very human way to work, seeing the laundry hanging on balconies nearby while we deal with our spreadsheets and emails. We keep a stash of biscuits in the drawer for when the afternoon slump hits. It’s not glamorous, but it is real life for us here in Hastsal.
