Nawab'S Furniture

Our place is called Nawab'S Furniture and we are situated in Kirtinagar, at Subhah Sandan CHS. If you know Delhi, you know Kirtinagar is the place to be if you are looking for wood or any kind of home stuff. It is a massive market and it can be very overwhelming for some people. Our shop is at 1/115-116. It is not the biggest shop on the block, but we fit a lot of inventory in there. There is always the smell of sawdust and polish in the air around here. It gets into your clothes and your hair by the end of the shift, and you just get used to it. We have a few guys who help with the loading and unloading of the trucks. They have been working with us for a long time. We do not have a big marketing department or anything. We just talk to the people who walk through the door. Sometimes they know exactly what they want, and sometimes they just wander around for an hour looking at things. We give them some water and let them look in peace. The roads in Kirtinagar are always blocked with tempos, so getting stuff delivered to customers can be a real pain. We spend a lot of time on the phone checking where the driver has reached. In the evenings, we sit together and have some tea before closing up the shutters.
