Darshan Singh & Sons

Our business, Darshan Singh & Sons, is based at A-57 in the W.H.S. Kirti Nagar area. It is a family-run spot, mostly focused on wood and furniture work. Kirti Nagar is a place that never really sleeps, with trucks and laborers moving around all the time. Our shop is right in the middle of that bustle. We do not have a polished showroom with bright lights. Instead, we have a workspace filled with the smell of sawdust and wood glue. My brothers and I are usually found on the shop floor, checking on how the cutting and polishing are going. We do not spend money on advertisements or fancy branding. Most of our work comes from people who know us from the neighborhood or have dealt with our father in the past. It is hard work, and our hands are usually rough from handling timber all day. The roof is made of tin, so when it rains, it gets really loud inside, and we have to raise our voices to talk. We just focus on making things that are solid and do what they are supposed to do. Sometimes we sit on some half-finished stools to have our lunch and talk about the day's work. We are just a local family trying to make a living in a very busy part of Delhi. We have been at this same spot for years.
