Monu Engineering Works

Monu Engineering Works has been operating out of Mansaram Park for quite some time. We are right at Building Number E-84. If you know the Kali Mandir in Uttam Nagar, we are just a short walk from there. The workshop is usually a bit loud because of the machines running. There is always a smell of metal and oil in the air. It gets on your clothes and stays there. We have various tools scattered around, but we generally know where everything is. The space isn’t huge, but we make it work for the different jobs that come through the door. Sometimes it’s a small repair and other times it’s something much bigger. The floors are concrete and stained from years of work. We stay busy enough that we don’t have much time to tidy up the way some people might like. Uttam Nagar is a crowded place, so there is always activity outside our door. We have our regulars who drop by just to chat or check on their orders. It’s a ground-floor setup, which makes it easier to move heavy parts in and out. During the monsoon, we have to watch the door so the water doesn't come in too much. It’s a simple life here, just working with our hands and making sure the machines keep turning. We take our tea breaks outside when the weather is nice and the sun is not too hot.
