Our office is tucked away on the third floor of 3 239 in Subhash Nagar. It’s a bit of a climb since the stairs are narrow and there isn't an elevator, but we are used to it by now. Being in New Delhi 110027 means there is always something happening right outside the window. You can hear the sounds of the market and the cars honking all day long. Mercer India Pvt Ltd has been based here for some time. Inside, it’s mostly just desks, chairs, and a lot of paper. We keep things simple because that is just how we like to operate. The light in the afternoons hits the back wall in a weird way, so we usually have to pull the curtains. It’s a local spot, and most of the people who work here live close enough to commute without too much trouble. We don't spend a lot of time worrying about how the place looks to outsiders. As long as the internet works and we have enough tea to get through the morning, we’re doing alright. The building has that old Delhi feel to it, where everyone knows everyone else’s business. We just keep our heads down and get through the tasks we have for the day. It’s a practical setup for a group like ours, and we’ve made the space our own over the years without any corporate polish or fancy decor getting in the way.
