Man Bhavan Boutique Parlour

Man Bhavan Boutique Parlour is on the first floor of the Vardhman Janak Market. Specifically, we are in units 102, 103, A, and 2 B in Janakpuri. It’s a bit of a maze in this building if you aren't used to it. We have the sewing machines in one corner and the parlor chairs in the other. It gets a bit cramped when we have a lot of fabric rolls lying around waiting to be cut. The market outside is always loud with people shouting and vehicles honking down below. We spend our days measuring cloth and then switching over to help someone with their eyebrows or hair. It’s a mix of different tasks all day long. The lighting inside could be better but we have extra lamps for the detailed work. We get a lot of sunlight through the windows in the morning which helps with the stitching. Sometimes the elevator in the market stops working and everyone has to take the stairs to the first floor. We know most of the other shopkeepers in Vardhman Janak Market and we often trade snacks during the lunch hour. It’s a busy life up here. We don’t have a big reception desk or anything, just a counter where we keep the thread and the scissors. We try to keep things organized but with so much going on, there is usually a bit of a mess somewhere. It feels like home to us even when the work piles up and the days get long.
