Kundal Engineering Works

Our workshop, Kundal Engineering Works, is located at B-117 in the Mayapuri Industrial Area Phase II. It is right in the heart of Hari Nagar, and there is a public school nearby, so we have to be careful with the noise during certain hours. Mayapuri is a place where you can find just about any machine part if you look hard enough. We spend our days surrounded by metal, grease, and the sound of hammers. It is an old-fashioned engineering shop where we fix things that are broken and try to make parts last a bit longer. The floor is usually covered in metal shavings and there is always a project sitting half-finished in the corner. We don't have a lot of space, so we have to be organized, though it might look like a mess to someone walking in from the street. The guys here have been working with lathes and grinders for a long time. We don't use much automation; it is mostly done by hand and by eye. It gets very hot in the workshop during May and June, but we keep the fans running and keep working. People from the nearby factories often drop by to ask for a quick fix or a bit of welding. We don't have any big corporate plans. We just like fixing things and making sure our machines are in good shape to handle whatever job comes through the door.
