Guru Tegh Bahadur Engg. Works

If you come down to Mayapuri Industrial Area, you’ll find us at F-61 in Phase-II. Guru Tegh Bahadur Engg. Works is a typical engineering shop. There’s oil on the floor and the sound of machines running most of the day. It’s not the quietest place to work, but we are used to it. We’ve got a mix of older equipment and some newer stuff we picked up a few years ago. Mayapuri is always crowded, so finding a parking spot near our gate can be a real headache. We mostly deal with metal and repairs. It’s dirty work, and our hands are usually stained by the end of the shift. We don’t have a marketing team or anyone to write fancy brochures. It’s just us doing the jobs as they come in. Some days we are buried in work, and other days it’s a bit slower and we spend time cleaning the tools. The building itself has been around for a long time. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but that’s not really a priority when there are orders to fill. We have a small office tucked in the corner where we keep the ledgers. It’s cramped, but it’s where we manage the business side of Guru Tegh Bahadur Engg. Works. We just try to do an honest job every day. The tea vendor comes around twice a day, and that’s usually when we take a short break to talk about things other than metalwork. It’s a hard life but a good one at F-61.
