Our shop, Gulshan Material Corpn., is right in the Karampura Shopping Centre at number 6. It’s a busy place with a lot of people coming and going for all sorts of things. Being in a shopping center means we’re surrounded by other businesses, which keeps things interesting. We handle a lot of materials, so there’s always something being loaded or unloaded at the front. It’s a practical space. We’ve got high counters and lots of drawers for different items. We don’t bother with much decoration because the materials themselves take up all the room. The floor is concrete and can be a bit dusty, but we sweep it every evening. We know most of the people who work in the center, and we usually swap stories during the slow times. The morning is our busiest time when the contractors come by to pick up what they need for the day. We just keep a simple ledger and do our best to stay organized. It’s a noisy, active environment, but we’ve been here so long that we don’t even notice it anymore. It’s just how things are in Karampura. We’re here from early morning until the shops start closing up in the evening. It’s a solid, hardworking little spot where we know exactly where everything is kept. No one here wears a suit, we just wear what's comfortable for moving stuff.
