Our office is over at A 29 Shivam Apartments, in D Block of Vikas Puri. It’s a busy part of New Delhi, and finding a spot for your scooter or car can be a real challenge if you arrive a bit late. The apartment complex is well-known in the area, so people don’t usually get lost trying to find us. We are in one of the blocks that gets a lot of afternoon sun, so it can get quite warm in the summer months. We have some heavy curtains to keep the glare off the computer screens so we can actually see what we are doing. The space is filled with the usual stuff like printers, stacks of paper, and several extension cords running along the floor. We try to keep it tidy, but with all the work we do, things tend to get messy by Friday afternoon. There is a small tea shop just outside the main gate where we often go for a quick break. The stairs in the building are a bit narrow, so carrying heavy equipment up to the apartment is always a bit of an adventure. Most of the neighbors are families, so we try to keep the noise down and not be too disruptive. It’s a lived-in kind of place. We have a clock on the wall that is always five minutes fast, but we never bother to change it. It’s just how things are at our Shivam Apartments spot.
