We are tucked away on the second floor of 645 Ashok Nagar. Finding the right staircase can be a bit confusing for people visiting the first time because the numbers on this street aren't always in a straight line. Once you get up here, it’s actually quite alright. The room has high ceilings which helps it feel less cramped even when we have a lot of stuff lying around. New Delhi in this area is pretty loud, so we hear the honking and the street vendors all day long. It becomes like background noise after a week of working here. We have a small balcony out back but it’s mostly used for keeping old boxes and the AC unit. The floor is made of that old speckled stone that stays cool even in June. We have a few desks pushed together in the middle of the room. It’s not a big corporate space, just our little corner of the city. Sometimes the water delivery guy forgets our floor and we have to call him back to bring the jars up. We keep a stash of biscuits in the drawer for when the afternoon slump hits. The light comes in really well through the front windows in the morning. It’s a bit dusty because of the constant construction nearby, but we wipe things down when we have a spare moment. It’s a practical space for us to get things done without any extra fuss or noise from the neighbors.
