Our shop is located at F 14 in the Ambattur Industrial Estate. If you know Ambattur, you know it’s mostly just rows of factories and workshops like ours. We spend our days making accessories and parts for engineering projects. It is loud work with the machines running all day long. There is always the smell of oil and metal in the air, which you just get used to after a week or two. We have a small crew that works the floor, and we’ve all been doing this for years. The building itself is just a standard industrial unit, nothing fancy. We don't have a big reception area; if you come to visit, you’ll probably just walk right onto the shop floor. Things get pretty greasy, so we wear old clothes that we don't mind ruining. The heat in Ambattur can be tough during the summer months, but we keep the fans going and just get on with the production. We handle a lot of small parts that go into much bigger machines. It takes a lot of attention to make sure everything is cut to the right size. We don’t spend much time on the computer or doing marketing. Most of our work comes from other businesses in the estate or regular clients who know where to find us. It’s honest, hard work. We just keep our heads down and try to meet the deadlines we are given. Each piece counts when you are dealing with engineering.
