We’ve been here at number 19 in the Furniture Block of Kirti Nagar for a while now. It’s a busy spot. You know how this area gets, especially on weekends when everyone is out looking for something for their home. Our space at Empire House is usually full of stuff, maybe a bit crowded sometimes, but that’s just how we work. People walk in from the main road, and there’s always wood dust or the sound of someone moving a heavy table. We don't have a fancy showroom with perfect lighting. It’s more of a practical place where we keep things organized as much as we can. My father started things here, and I just kept it going. Most days, we are just talking to people about what size sofa fits in their flat or which wood holds up better in the heat. The tea guy comes around twice a day, and that’s usually when we take a break. It is not some high-end corporate office. We just open the shutters in the morning, sweep the floor, and see who comes in. Sometimes it’s quiet, and we just sit and look at the traffic outside. Other days, we are so busy we can’t even find a pen to write an order. That is just how life is here in Kirti Nagar. We know the neighbors, and they know us. It’s a simple setup.
