Wayanad Social Service Society

We are located in Manathavady, and our mail goes to PB No 16. Wayanad Social Service Society has been part of this community for a long time. Our office isn't anything special; it’s just a place where we sit down to organize things. We work with the local farmers and families around Wayanad. Most of our day is spent out in the field or talking to people who come by the office with questions. It’s a quiet place, surrounded by a lot of greenery. We don't have big budgets for fancy things. The chairs are old, and the desks are a bit scratched up. We just focus on the programs we run. Sometimes we are helping with agricultural stuff, and other times it’s about helping a family get back on their feet. There’s a lot of paperwork, which none of us really likes, but it has to be done. The people who work here are mostly from around Manathavady. We know the local problems because we live here too. It’s not a corporate job. It’s more about being part of the town and helping out where it’s needed. We have a small tea break every afternoon where we talk about what happened during the day. It’s a simple way of working. We don't make big promises, we just try to do what we can with what we have for the community.
