Great Escapes

We set up Great Escapes on T.B. Road in Kapletta a while back. It’s a decent enough location for what we do. We mostly arrange trips and outdoor activities for people visiting the area. The office is a bit of a mix of things—old maps, some hiking gear in the corner, and a lot of dusty folders on the shelves. Kapletta is a small place, so word of mouth is how most people find out about us. We don't have a big fancy storefront with neon signs. It’s just a plain room where we sit and work out all the logistics for the tours. Sometimes the rain here makes everything feel damp, and we have to make sure the files stay dry. We spend a lot of time talking to local guides on their mobile phones. Some days we are out on the road ourselves checking out new spots or meeting drivers. It’s not really a 9-to-5 kind of place. We might be here late or not here at all if we’re out in the field helping a group. There’s always coffee on the burner, though it’s usually quite burnt by the time midday rolls around. We just try to get the details right for whoever is traveling with us. It’s a lot of phone calls and checking the local weather. The T.B. Road can get a bit muddy during the monsoon months, so it’s sometimes a struggle just to get to the front door.
