Wayanad Hydraulics

Living and working in Kakkavayal is mostly quiet until the trucks start coming through. Our place, Wayanad Hydraulics, is right here in the village, not too far from the Meenangadi post office. It’s a green area, but our hands are usually covered in oil or grease from the machines. We deal with hydraulic parts all day long. Some days are slower than others, especially when the monsoon hits and the roads get a bit muddy. We spend a lot of time fixing things that people bring in from the farms or the construction sites around the district. The shop is just a basic shed with the tools we’ve gathered over the years. We don't bother with fancy signs or decorations. If you know where the post office is, you can find us easily enough. Sometimes we share tea with the neighbors while waiting for a part to arrive. It’s not a big corporate setup, just a local spot where we get our work done. We try to keep things moving so people aren't waiting too long. It gets a bit loud when we are testing the equipment, but that’s just how it is. We’ve seen the village change a bit, but our routine stays the same. Just showing up, opening the shutters, and seeing what the day brings. The air here is fresh after it rains, which makes the hard work feel a bit easier on the long afternoons.
