De Paul Public School

Our school is situated up in the hills of Wayanad, right in the Kalpetta area. If you are familiar with this part of Kerala, you know it’s a very green and beautiful place, but it can be quite rainy for most of the year. De Paul Public School is a solid building that stands out a bit in the neighborhood. We have students coming from all over Kalpetta and some of the smaller villages nearby. The classrooms are basic but they have enough room for everyone to sit comfortably and do their work. We have a small staff room where we sit and eat our lunch while talking about the day’s events. It isn't a high-pressure corporate environment at all. We just follow the schedule and try to make sure the kids learn what they are supposed to. The playground gets quite muddy during the monsoon months, so the children spend more time indoors during those weeks. We don't have any fancy marketing materials or a big team of promoters. Most of the families chose us because we are close by and we’ve been here for a long time. You might hear the sound of the school bell ringing through the trees if you are walking nearby in the morning. We just keep our heads down and do the work of running the school day in and day out. It’s a quiet life here in the mountains, and we are just another part of the Kalpetta community.
