About Varshitha Carpenter Works – Furniture in Warangal
The workshop is at house 2-157/2 in Medapally, Nallabelly. If you come through Warangal, you can find us. It is mostly sawdust and the sound of the saw here. I started working with wood when I was young, learning from the older men. Now I have my own place. We make doors, window frames, and sometimes simple beds or cupboards for the neighbors. It's not factory-made stuff. I use my hands and some basic power tools. The wood comes from the local timber yard. I like the smell of fresh cut wood, but the dust gets in your lungs if you aren't careful. My space is a bit cluttered with scraps and wood shavings on the floor. I don't have a secretary or a computer to track things. I just mark the measurements on a piece of wood or a scrap of paper. People from Medapally know where I am. They bring their own ideas or just ask me to fix a broken chair. It takes time to get things right, and I don't like to rush. Sometimes the wood has knots or it’s a bit warped, so you have to work around it. That is the way it goes with natural materials. I spend most of my day standing at the bench. It’s a quiet village life, and as long as there is wood to cut, I am busy with my work and my tools.
