Ushanamma Farms

Out in Muthojipet, near Narsampet in the Warangal area, you will find Ushanamma Farms at H. No -2-448. It is a different pace of life out here compared to the big cities. We spend a lot of our time looking at the sky and worrying about the rain, or the lack of it. That is just how it is when you are tied to the land. The farm work is never really finished. There is always a fence to fix or a patch of ground that needs attention. We have been in this part of Warangal for a long time. People around Muthojipet know us and we know them. It is the kind of place where you stop and talk for ten minutes even when you have work to do. Our house and office are all tied together in one spot. We don't have fancy marketing plans or big slogans. We just grow what we can and try to make sure the things we produce are okay for whoever is buying from us. The mornings are the best time when it is still cool and the birds are loud. By the afternoon, it gets very quiet and hot. We take a break then and start again when the sun goes down a bit. It is hard work and your hands are always dirty, but it feels right. We just do what we have to do every season and hope for the best.
