Swathi Travels

Swathi Travels operates out of H. No. 3-67/1 in Gundlasingaram, over in the BC Colony part of Hanamkonda. This is just a simple home-based business where we manage a few vehicles for trips. I spend a lot of time on the phone or sitting on the porch waiting for the next trip to start. The house is on a regular street, and we park the cars wherever there is space. It isn't a big commercial lot with signs and lights. I do most of the maintenance work myself, like checking the air in the tires. Hanamkonda can get pretty busy, so I have to plan the routes carefully to avoid the worst traffic. I’ve lived in BC Colony for years, so I know most of the shortcuts around Gundlasingaram. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just know us by word of mouth or seeing the cars at 3-67/1. I keep a diary of all the bookings so I don't forget anyone. Sometimes the days are very long, especially during the festival seasons when everyone wants to go back to their villages. It is just me and a couple of drivers who help out when it gets really crowded. We don't have fancy uniforms. We just wear what we have and get the job done. It’s a practical way to live, just moving people around the state and back home again. I just keep the keys ready and the seats clean for whoever comes by.
