Srinivas Farming

Srinivas Farming is based out of house 1-70 in the village of Dasaripally. Being in the Narsampet area of Warangal means we get some pretty intense weather, from heavy rains to very dry spells. I spend most of my time out in the fields, making sure the crops are doing what they are supposed to. I’ve been at this for many years, and my back definitely feels it every evening when I sit down. The house is right there near the edge of the property, which is convenient when I need to grab a tool or get out of a sudden downpour. We don't do anything too fancy here. It’s just straightforward farming, planting when it’s time and harvesting when the crop is ready. I have an old truck that gets us into town when we need supplies, but mostly I stay right here on the land. Dasaripally is a quiet place, which suits me just fine. My hands are always calloused and stained with dirt, but I don't mind it. It’s honest work that keeps a person busy from sunup to sundown. We grow what the land allows, and we don't try to force things that don't belong here. If you come by 1-70, you’ll probably find me leaning against the fence or working on the tractor. It’s a simple, practical way of living that focuses on the basic needs of the farm.
