About Sarojana Flour And Chilli Mill – Food & Beverages in Warangal
Our mill is at H. No. 6-6 in Moddulagudem Village, out in the Govindaraopet Mandal of Warangal. You can usually hear the machines running before you even see the building. We spend our days grinding grain into flour and processing dried red chillies into powder. The air inside the mill is always thick with the smell of spices, and if you aren't used to it, the chilli dust will make you sneeze pretty quickly. It gets very warm in here when the motors have been running for a few hours. We use old-style grinding stones and modern machines too. People from the village bring their bags of grain and wait while we process them. It is a dusty job and our clothes are always covered in a fine layer of white flour or red spice by the time we close up. Moddulagudem is a small place, so we know most of the people who come through the door. We don't have any fancy packaging or a storefront. People just bring their own sacks and we fill them up. When the harvest season is on, we stay very busy and the machines hardly ever stop. Sometimes a belt breaks and we have to shut everything down to fix it, which can take some time. It’s hard work and it’s loud, but it is what we do here in the village every single day.
