Radhika Farming

My place is Radhika Farming, located at H.No:-4-77 in Rangampally. We are in the Laknepally area near Narsampet. It’s a quiet corner of the world. I spend most of my time out in the fields rather than inside the house. Farming is a tough business because you can’t control the weather. Some years the rain comes right when you need it, and other years you’re just staring at a dry sky. I’ve lived at this address for quite some time now. The neighbors are all doing the same kind of work, so we understand each other. There is no need for big words here. We just get up and do what needs to be done. My hands are always stained with something, whether it’s grease from the machines or just plain old dirt. It’s a lot of manual labor. You learn to appreciate the small things, like a cool breeze or a good crop. The road to Laknepally can be a bit of a mess during the monsoon season. I don’t have a big team of people. It’s mostly just me and whatever help I can find. We keep the equipment at H.No:-4-77 and start our day from there. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s a steady one. We take it one day at a time and see what the season brings us. That’s all you can really do.
