Michael Travels

The office is located at H. No. 19-11-414/A on Nagamaiah Veedhi. Shambunipet is a bit of a maze if you aren’t used to it, but our spot is easy enough to find once you get on the right street. It’s a small room really, just enough space for a couple of desks and some chairs for people waiting to talk about their trips. We have calendars on the walls and a lot of notebooks where we jot down bus timings and train schedules. It’s not one of those high-end travel lounges. It’s more of a practical place where people come to figure out how to get from point A to point B without spending too much. The fan overhead makes a bit of a clicking sound, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We spend a lot of time on the phone, checking if seats are available or confirming bookings for families going on holiday. Sometimes the street gets loud with kids playing outside or motorbikes zooming past, but inside it’s mostly just the sound of typing and paper shuffling. We’ve been in this neighborhood for a while, so we know most of the people who come through the door. It’s a steady kind of life, helping people plan their journeys and making sure they have their tickets ready before they head out. We keep a stack of old magazines on the corner table for people to look at, and there's usually a half-empty water bottle sitting on my desk from the morning.
