Marati Lavanya

My house is H. No. 1-162 in Mallareddipalle, Hasanparthy. It’s where I stay and where I do my business. My name is Marati Lavanya, and I’ve lived in this village for most of my life. It’s a small community, so everyone knows where everyone else lives. I started doing this work because I wanted to be able to stay home with my family while still making some money. It isn't a big operation with employees or fancy equipment. It’s just me in a corner of the house with my supplies and my ideas. Mallareddipalle is a quiet place for the most part, except for when the kids are out playing in the street. I find that I work best when it’s early and the house is still. I handle everything myself, from the first step to the last. Sometimes it gets a bit overwhelming when there is a lot to do at once, but I just take it one thing at a time. I don’t have a shop front with a big display. People usually just come to the door or send word through a friend. It’s a very local way of doing things, and I wouldn’t want it any other way. Hasanparthy is where my roots are, and being able to work from 1-162 is a blessing. It’s just a normal life, really, with enough to do to keep my mind sharp and my hands moving.
