Mallachari Wood Farnicher

Down in Dasaripally, at house number 3-79, that’s where you’ll find our wood shop. It’s usually covered in sawdust by ten in the morning. We’ve been in Narsampet for a long time now, just making things out of wood. It’s a messy job, and our clothes always smell like pine or teak, but that’s just how it is. We don’t have a big fancy showroom like the stores in Warangal city. Mostly, it’s just a shed with some heavy benches and a lot of hand tools lying around. We make tables, chairs, and whatever else people ask for. Mallachari Wood Farnicher is what we call ourselves. Sometimes we get a big order for a wedding and the whole family has to help out. My hands are always rough and I’ve got more than a few splinters over the years. We don't use many big machines because the old ways still work fine for us. If someone wants a sturdy bed, they come talk to us. We don't really have a website or anything like that. People just know where we are. You walk past the main road and you can hear the sawing. It’s hard work, especially when it’s hot outside, but seeing a finished cupboard makes it worth the sweat. We just try to make things that won’t fall apart after a year. It’s a simple business and we like keeping it that way, with just our tools and the wood.
