Srilatha Engineering Works

Our shop is at H. No 1-1-1462 in Kazipet. It’s a busy part of Hanamkonda, so there is always noise coming from the street and the railway tracks nearby. We’ve got machines running most of the day, which means it’s never really quiet inside the building. There’s usually a bit of grease on everything, even the chairs in the front office area. We try to keep things tidy, but that’s hard with the kind of iron and metal work we do. People come in with broken parts or needing things welded almost every hour. We don’t have a big fancy storefront with lights. It’s just a place with a lot of heavy tools and some worn-out benches. The floor is stained from years of hard work. Sometimes we lose track of time when we're deep into a project. We have tea together in the mid-morning when the heat starts to pick up and we need a break. Most of the guys have been working here for years and we’re like a small family. We know the neighbors well and they know the sound of our shop starting up in the morning. It’s not a quiet place to sit and relax, but it’s where we get things done. We keep the big doors open for air, so we see everyone walking by on the street. It’s just a regular engineering spot. We’ve been at this Kazipet address so long the building feels like a second home.
