Bhavani Welding Shop

Our shop is located at house 1-80 in Medapally, Nallabelly, which is in Warangal. It’s right near the main path. We do all kinds of iron work here. Mostly it is welding gates or fixing farm tools that have snapped. The light from the welding is very bright, so we always have to wear the dark masks. It’s very hot work, especially with the sparks flying everywhere. My clothes have little burn holes in them from the years of doing this. We have a heavy workbench and a couple of welding machines. People bring their broken plows or bicycle frames to be joined back together. It’s a noisy place with the grinding and the banging on metal. We don't have any fancy brochures. People just see the sparks and know we are open. The shop is small and usually has pieces of scrap metal piled up in the corners. I work with my younger brother. We start early before it gets too hot, but the afternoon is always a struggle with the heat. We’ve been in Medapally for a long time. It’s a good community and everyone knows each other. We just do the repairs as they come and try to make sure the weld holds strong. It’s a simple trade but it’s important for the farmers around here. We just keep our heads down and get the metal joined together as best we can.
