About Sammakka Chicken Shop – Food & Beverages in Warangal Rural
I open up the shop early most mornings here in Gangaram. It’s usually quiet until the sun gets higher, then the street starts moving. My shop is at house number 1-82, right where people pass through. We spend a lot of time just getting things ready, making sure everything is clean and the knives are sharp. People from around Kothagudem come by, some want just a little bit for a quick meal and others take enough for a big family dinner on Sundays. It gets pretty loud with the birds and the chatter from the street outside. I’ve been doing this for a while now, so I know most of the faces that walk in. Sometimes the power goes out or it gets too hot, but that’s just how it is working here. We don’t have fancy signs or anything, just the counter and the work we do every day. Dealing with livestock means you can’t really take many days off. You just get used to the smell of the shop and the rhythm of the chopping block. It’s hard work on the hands, especially when it’s busy and everyone is in a hurry to get home and cook. I usually stay until the sun goes down and the last of the birds are gone. Then it’s time to wash everything down and do it again the next day. It's a simple life here in our part of town, just trying to keep the business going one day at a time, making sure everyone gets what they need for their dinner.
