About Rani Flour Mill – Food & Beverages in Warangal Rural
Rani Flour Mill is located at House Number 2-47 in Elkurthy, which is over in the Geesugonda area of Warangal. It is a small operation where we spend our days grinding different types of grains for the local people. You can usually hear the hum of the motor from down the street before you even see the door. The air inside is always thick with the smell of ground spices and grains, which can make you sneeze if you are not used to it. We keep our scales on a small table near the entrance to weigh whatever the villagers bring in. It is mostly women from the neighborhood who come by with their metal tins or plastic sacks filled with raw materials. We don't have a big staff or any corporate rules to follow. We just open up in the morning and stay until the work is done. The walls are a bit stained from the flour dust and the floor needs sweeping every hour, but that is the nature of a pindi girni. Sometimes the machine needs a bit of oil or a belt change, and we do that ourselves right there. It is a steady life in Elkurthy. We have seen kids grow up bringing their family's grain here. We don't need much else, just a working machine and enough power to keep the stones turning.
