Iqbal Rice Mill

Iqbal Rice Mill is found at Dr.No.1-41/7 in the Co Operative Colony, right on the Main Road. Being on the main road means we see a lot of traffic passing by, and it can get pretty loud with all the horns and engines. The mill itself adds to that noise whenever we are processing the rice. It’s a big, open space with high ceilings and plenty of room for the trucks to back in and unload the raw paddy. The smell of the grain is everywhere, especially when the husks are being removed. We have a few workers who have been with us for years, and we all just go about our business without much fuss. The floors are dusty, and there are always a few stray grains of rice tucked into the corners. We don't have any fancy air conditioning, so we leave the large front doors open to let the air circulate, which also lets in the sound of the street. Our office is just a small corner partitioned off with some plywood where we keep the records and a few chairs for visitors. It’s a very straightforward place. We focus on getting the milling done and making sure the quality is what it should be. People come from all around the colony and the main road to see about their orders. It’s just a busy, dusty, loud place that does its job every day.
