About Bujji Pindi Girni – Food & Beverages in Warangal Rural
Bujji Pindi Girni is a small flour mill situated at House Number 137/2 in Singyathanda. This is out in the Rathiramthana part of Nellikuduru, deep in Warangal. The main thing you notice when you walk toward our place is the sound of the grinding stones and the smell of fresh grain being turned into flour. We have been doing this for a long time, helping the local families get their chili powder, wheat, and rice flour ready for cooking. It is a very dusty job, and by the end of the shift, everything is covered in a fine white powder. The machine is old and makes a lot of noise, so we have to shout sometimes to hear each other over the clatter. We do not have any fancy signs or big advertisements. People just know we are here in the thanda. They bring their bags of grain on bicycles or just carry them on their shoulders. We weigh the bags, run the mill, and give back the flour while it is still warm. It is hard work, and the room gets quite hot when the motor has been running for hours. Sometimes the electricity goes out and everything stops, which is just part of living out here. We just wait for it to come back and then start again. It is a simple life centered around the basic needs of the village.
