Satara Aquaventure Fish Farmer Producer is run out of a house in Chindwali. Specifically, we are at House Number 09, which belongs to Mayur Mohan Kakade. If you know the Wai taluka, you know it's a place with a lot of character and some really nice views. Our work is all about fish farming, so we spend a lot of time thinking about water and the local environment. It is not like working in a city office building. Here, we are right in the middle of where the actual farming happens. The house is a bit of a hub for us. We meet there to discuss the ponds, the stock, and how the season is going. It can get a bit hectic when we have a lot of members stopping by at once, and sometimes the yard is full of bikes and gear. We handle everything from here, from the paperwork to the planning of the next harvest. It’s a very hands-on kind of life. Being in a village like Chindwali means we are close to the land and the people who actually do the work. We don't have fancy signage or a big marketing budget. We just have our local reputation and the fish we produce. It’s honest work that keeps us busy from sunrise until it gets dark. Most of us have lived around here our whole lives, so we know the local waters better than anyone else.
