Laxmi Industries

Laxmi Industries is located at unit 1409 in Phase-4 of the G.I.D.C. in Wadhwan City. Being part of the Surendranagar industrial belt, we are surrounded by all sorts of factories and workshops. The G.I.D.C. is a sprawling place, and it can be easy to get lost if you don't know the plot numbers. Our building is a plain one, much like the others on our street. We have a small courtyard out front where we park our scooters and sometimes unload supplies. The workday starts before the sun gets too high, as Wadhwan can get quite uncomfortable in the peak summer months. We don't have any corporate offices or marketing departments. Usually, the person who answers the phone is the same person who was just working on the floor. It is a hands-on type of business. We know our machinery inside and out. There is always a layer of fine dust on the windows, but that is just the nature of the work we do. We share the street with a chemical plant and a textile mill, so there is a mix of smells and sounds throughout the day. At lunch, we usually sit together on some crates and eat whatever we brought from home. It is a steady, predictable life, and we are quite content with the way things are run in our little corner of Phase-4. We just keep our heads down and work on whatever is in front of us.
