Lakshmi Ganapathi Metal Mart

If you go behind the NPS Road, you’ll find us on Vidhata Main Road. The name is Lakshmi Ganapathi Metal Mart. We sell all kinds of metal items, mostly stuff for the house or for regular use. The shop is filled with things that clatter and shine. We don’t have a lot of space, so things are stacked up pretty high. You have to be careful walking through the aisles. We’ve been here for a while, and the neighborhood knows us as the place to get a good bucket or a new stove. It’s a local shop, nothing like those big malls. We open the shutters in the morning and start moving some of the bigger items out to the front so people can see them from the road. It’s a lot of lifting and moving things around. The sun hits the shop pretty hard in the afternoon, making all the metal feel hot to the touch. We spend our time talking to customers and helping them find exactly the right size of whatever they need. It’s a simple way to make a living, selling things that people actually use. We aren't doing anything fancy with branding, just staying open and keeping the shelves full. Behind NPS Road is where we stay, serving whoever walks in. Sometimes people come in just to chat, and that’s fine too. We know most of the families around here by now. If we don’t have something in stock, we try to get it eventually.
