Washim Kerana &General Stores

Washim Kerana & General Stores is located at D.No 9-4-185 in the Gajuwaka area of Visakhapatnam. It’s a simple building that houses all the grocery needs of the families living around here. We don’t spend money on fancy decorations or advertisements. Most of our day is spent inside the store, surrounded by sacks of rice and stacks of canned goods. We open up early and don't really close until the last person has finished their evening shopping. The inventory changes depending on what is available at the wholesale market, but we always try to keep the staples like dal, salt, and tea. Sometimes the shop feels a bit cramped because we try to fit so much into a small space. We have things hanging from the ceiling and piled on the floor. It is a very hands-on job, constantly moving stock and checking dates on the packets. We use a simple ledger for our accounts and a manual scale for the loose items. It’s a bit old-fashioned, maybe, but it works for us and the people who shop here. The neighborhood in 530026 is busy, and we are just one of the many small businesses trying to keep things going. It’s honest work, and we appreciate the people who stop by to buy their daily milk or some snacks for their kids. There isn't much more to it than that.
