Grace General Stores

Grace General Stores is a small neighborhood shop in Vepagunta, located at 21-9-571 in the Purushotta Puram area. We are the kind of place where people stop by to grab a packet of milk, some tea leaves, or maybe a few eggs on their way home. The shop is quite small, but we try to cram in everything that a household might run out of unexpectedly. We have snacks for the kids, soaps, detergents, and big bags of rice tucked in the corners. It is just me and sometimes my nephew helping out behind the counter. We know almost everyone who lives on this street by name. Often, the elders from the neighborhood will stand by the front for a bit to chat about the weather or local news while I bag their groceries. It is not a supermarket where you wander around with a trolley; you just tell me what you need, and I pull it off the shelf for you. Sometimes we run out of things, and I have to tell people to come back tomorrow after the distributor visits. The shop has been here for a while, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it works for us. It is a quiet life for the most part, except for the busy hour in the evening when everyone realizes they forgot to buy sugar for their evening tea.
