About Visakha Departmental Stores – Food & Beverages in Visakhapatnam
Our shop, Visakha Departmental Stores, sits right by the Chinagantyada Bus Stop on the NH 5 Road. It’s a loud spot because of all the buses and trucks going past towards Gajuwaka. Being near RK Hospital means we see a lot of different people all day long. Some are in a hurry to catch a ride and others are just visiting someone nearby. We carry a bit of everything, from household cleaning things to biscuits and cold drinks. The shelves are usually packed tight. Sometimes it’s a bit of a squeeze when more than four people are inside at once. I usually spend my mornings checking what ran out the day before. The dust from the main road is a constant battle, so we are always wiping down the counters. It’s not a polished supermarket. It’s just a local place where the floor might be a bit dusty by evening. We have some plastic crates stacked in the corner that we need to move out, but there’s never enough time. My brother helps me out when things get too busy in the evenings. We don’t have fancy uniforms or anything. Just us in our regular clothes, handing out change and packing bags. It’s been this way for years. Visakhapatnam is growing fast, but here at the bus stop, it feels like the same old routine every single day. We just keep the doors open and wait for the next bus to drop people off. The street lights outside flicker sometimes, but we stay until closing.
