Vijaya Bhavani Hair Saloon

You can find Vijaya Bhavani Hair Saloon right on the Main Road over by the ITI Junction in Kancharapalem. We are really close to the Old ITI Junction Bus Stop, so there is always a lot of traffic and people walking past the door. The sound of buses pulling in and out is something we’ve just gotten used to over the years. Visakhapatnam can get really humid, so the shop is a place where people come to cool off for a bit while they get a trim. We keep the doors open mostly to let some air move, but the dust from the road comes in too. It’s a simple setup. We have the usual chairs and a few old magazines on the table for people waiting. Most of the men who come here are from the neighborhood or guys getting off the bus after work. We do basic haircuts and shaves. Nothing too complicated or modern, just what people usually ask for. The mirrors have a few spots on them that won't come off, and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but it works for us. We’ve been here long enough that we know most of the faces that walk through the door. Sometimes it gets crowded on Sunday mornings and people have to wait outside on the step. We just keep working until everyone is done. It’s a plain shop, but it’s our living and we are okay with that.
