Venki The Saloon

Venki The Saloon is right here on the Main Road in Gajuwaka. We are really close to the Rythu Bazar, so there is always a lot of noise and people moving around outside. The shop has been in Visakhapatnam for a while now. Most days, we just open up early, sweep the floor, and get the chairs ready for whoever walks in. It is a simple place with some mirrors and the usual tools we need. We see all kinds of people from around the neighborhood. Some guys come in every two weeks, others we only see once in a months time. The fan hums in the corner and we keep the doors open mostly to let the breeze in. It gets pretty busy on weekends when the market is full, but during the week it is a bit slower. We don't have anything fancy here. Just a place to sit down and get your hair cut or a shave. The location is 530026, which is easy to find if you know the area near the bazaar. We try to keep things clean, though sometimes hair gets everywhere when it’s a busy afternoon. There is always some music playing on a small radio or someone talking about the cricket score. It feels like home to us because we spend so many hours here every single day. We just do the work and hope people leave feeling okay about how they look.
