Venkata Padma Fancy & General Stores is located right on the Main Road in Gajuwaka. The address is 7-16-72/1, and being on the main road means we see a lot of foot traffic throughout the day. We are a mix of a fancy store and a general store. This means we have things like bangles, ribbons, and small gifts, but also the usual household items people need. It’s a bit of a variety, which makes the work interesting. One minute someone wants a specific color of thread, and the next person wants a bottle of oil. Gajuwaka is a busy place, and our shop is right in the middle of that energy. We have been here for a while and have seen the road change over the years. Inside the shop, it’s a bit of a tight squeeze with all the different items we stock. We try to keep the fancy items looking nice in the front. It’s a family-run kind of place, so you won’t find any corporate uniforms here. We just wear our regular clothes and talk to people like they are our neighbors, because most of them are.
