The Trends Saloon

Located over in Railway New Colony, right by the Ganesh Temple Arch on Market Road. We’ve been here for a bit. It’s a decent sized shop for this area. We chose the name because we try to keep up with what people are asking for these days, even if we are just a local spot. The temple arch is a good landmark, otherwise people might miss the turn. We get a lot of railway workers coming in since their quarters are nearby. It’s a friendly place. We don't have those expensive espresso machines, but there’s always water and maybe some biscuits if you’re lucky. The scissors are always moving. We do hair for men and boys mostly. Sometimes the younger guys want those patterns shaved in, which takes a bit more time and a steady hand. The walls are painted a simple blue and we have some posters of different styles from a few years back. It’s not a corporate chain. It’s just us. We work long hours, especially before festivals when everyone wants to look their best for the photos. The mirror has a small crack in the corner but you can see yourself just fine. We just enjoy the work and the company of the people who live around here in Visakhapatnam. It’s a steady life and we’re happy with the shop we’ve built for the community here.
