Swapna The Saloon

We are located right on the Main Road in Akkayyapalem, right beside that Axis Bank ATM that always seems to have a line. Because of the bank, we get people popping their heads in just to ask for change or to check the time. The saloon is quite small, honestly, but we make it work with what we have. There are three chairs and they are usually full on Sunday mornings. We’ve got some posters on the walls that have been there for ages, showing different hair styles that nobody really asks for anymore. Most people just want the usual short cut or a clean shave. The floor is a bit uneven near the back, so you have to watch your step. We keep a bucket and a mop handy because the rain always brings in mud from the main road. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons when the sun hits the glass front, but we have a small cooler that helps a bit. The noise from the traffic is constant, especially the auto-rickshaws. We know most of the people who walk past every day, like the postman or the guy who sells snacks. It’s a simple life here at Swapna The Saloon, just cutting hair and listening to whatever news is going around the neighborhood. We don't try to be anything we aren't.
