Svl Saloon

Our shop, Svl Saloon, is right on the Main Road in Verat Nagar, over in the Prahladapuram area. We are directly opposite the Simhadri Complex, so it’s easy to spot us if you are driving past. The road out front is always busy with buses and cars going toward the city. Inside, it’s just a regular setup with the usual chairs and a long mirror that runs across the main wall. We keep our spray bottles and clippers lined up on the shelf. The floor is a dark color so it doesn't show the dirt too much, which helps because people are always walking in with dusty shoes. We open up early in the morning, usually around eight, and stay until the street lights come on at night. Sometimes the power goes out for an hour or so in the afternoon, so we just open the door wide to let the natural light in and keep working as best as we can. We have a small fan for each chair, but they don't do much when the Vizag humidity really kicks in. People from the nearby apartments usually stop by on their way home from work. We don't have any fancy music playing, just the sound of the traffic and the occasional conversation. It is a straightforward place for a haircut, and we’ve been here long enough that most faces are familiar to us now.
