S.V.K.M.L General Stores

You can find S.V.K.M.L General Stores over at Door No 36-3-11/1. We are located in Ganganna Nagar, which is part of the Kancharapalem area in Visakhapatnam. We are quite close to Dr Rama Rao Hospital, so there are always people walking back and forth near the shop. We sell all the basic things a family needs, like soap, tea, grains, and other small household items. It’s not a very large store, so we have to stack things pretty high to make everything fit. Sometimes it looks a bit cluttered, but we know where everything is kept. My brother and I run the place ourselves. We don’t have a big staff to help out, so one of us is always behind the counter from morning until night. The summers here in Vizag are really something else, the heat just sticks to you. We usually have a glass of tea even when it's boiling outside. Our customers are mostly the people living in the nearby houses. They come in for a few things and usually stay for a minute to catch up. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot, with new buildings going up where there used to be empty lots. But the shop stays pretty much the same as it’s always been. We just keep the shelves stocked and wait for the next person to walk through the door. It’s a simple life but we like being here.
