Suresh General Stores Deverapalli is our small business located on the Visakhapatnam Main Road. We are in the 530003 area, which is always buzzing with activity. Being on the Main Road means we see a lot of faces, some regulars and some just passing through. The store is packed with all sorts of things from floor to ceiling. I spend a lot of my time climbing up to get stuff down or shifting boxes to find what someone asked for. It is a lot of physical work, especially when new stock arrives and we have to unload everything from the trucks. The heat in Visakhapatnam can be tough, but we just keep the fan going and carry on. We handle all the common groceries and things like cleaning supplies or batteries. It is not a polished place, just a working shop where things are a bit cluttered. I usually write down my accounts in a big thick book at the end of the day. Sometimes I forget to restock the milk until the last minute, and then I have to rush. We are just a local store trying to keep up with the daily needs of the people here. There is nothing complicated about it. We open the doors every morning and see what the day brings. It is just how we live and work on the Main Road.
