Sri Venkatrama General Stores

Sri Venkatrama General Stores sits right on Door No 8-6-40/A along the Nh5 in Gajuwaka. It is easy to find because we are right opposite Panthulugarimeda. The road outside is always busy with trucks and cars going towards Visakhapatnam. Because of the highway, there is always a bit of dust on the front step, so I have to sweep it a few times a day. We keep a lot of stuff packed into this space. There are packets of biscuits, different kinds of lentils, and big tins of cooking oil. People who live in the houses nearby come here for their monthly groceries. We also get travelers who stop for a quick bottle of water or some snacks. The shelves are getting a bit old and some of the paint is peeling, but they hold everything just fine. I spend most of my day sitting behind the counter or moving sacks of sugar around. It can get very humid here in Vizag, especially in the afternoons, so the small shop feels a bit tight. We don't use any computers for the bills, just a pen and a notebook to write things down. It has been this way for a long time. People know us by name and we know what they usually buy. It is just a regular shop for regular people. There is nothing special about it, we just keep the things people need every day.
