Sri Venkateswara Kirana & General Stores

Sri Venkateswara Kirana & General Stores is our place in Marripalem, Visakhapatnam. We have been here for years, providing the basic things people need for their kitchens. You won't find any big shopping carts or fancy aisles here. It is just a regular kirana store with bags of rice and dal stacked up. I usually handle the customers myself, and sometimes my wife helps out when I need to go and get more stock. Marripalem is a nice enough place, and we have many neighbors who come to us for their daily needs. We don't have a big staff or a computer for the bills. I just use a small calculator and keep the cash in a wooden drawer. The shop gets a bit dusty because of the wind, but we try our best to keep the goods clean. We sell items like oil, spices, and sugar. People come in, ask for what they want, and I weigh it out for them. It is a slow and steady kind of work. We don't really do any promotion or advertising. Our name is painted on the front and that is enough for people to find us. We stay open quite late because sometimes people forget to buy something for their dinner. It’s a simple way of living and we are content with how the shop runs. We just focus on keeping the inventory full so nobody leaves disappointed when they visit us in Visakhapatnam.
