Sri Venkata Laxmi General Stores

Sri Venkata Laxmi General Stores is situated on Rly Station Road, quite close to the Visakhapatnam Airport. It’s a busy stretch of road and we see people from all over. Some are coming from the airport, others are headed to the station. It’s a lot of coming and going. I opened this store because I saw there wasn't a good place nearby for locals to get their basic groceries without going all the way into the main city. We keep a good stock of daily essentials. The sea breeze from the coast reaches us sometimes, which is nice when it’s hot. The shop is small and we’ve got bags of rice stacked up near the entrance. I usually have a radio playing in the background to keep me company during the slow afternoon hours. We don’t really do any big promotions or sales, we just sell things at the price on the packet. People around here trust us for that. My wife comes in during the busy morning rush to help with the weighing and packing. We have a lot of plastic containers filled with different snacks too. It’s a simple setup, nothing like those big malls you see in the city center. We just focus on getting the stock right so we don't run out of what people need. It’s a steady life and we’re happy being part of this neighborhood near the airport. No complaints really, we just keep at it.
