Sri Srinivasa Sai Kirana General Stores-D

Our shop is located at D.No 10-10-58 on Kanithi Road in the Gajuwaka area of Visakhapatnam. It is a busy stretch of road and there is a lot of dust from the traffic that we have to deal with every day. I usually open the doors early before the sun gets too high because the humidity in Vizag can be really tough. We keep a good variety of kirana items like different types of dal and rice and everyday household cleaners. The counter is usually covered with jars of small snacks and candies that the local kids love to buy on their way home from school. I spend a lot of time writing down accounts and making sure we don't run out of the basics. The fans are always humming to keep the air moving inside the shop. Sometimes the supply trucks arrive late and I have to stay back to help unload the sacks of flour. It is a lot of physical work and my back sometimes hurts by the end of the day. The neighbors are mostly working-class people who stop by after their shifts at the plants nearby. We don't have any fancy displays but everything is easy to find if you know where to look. I like the routine of the shop and the way the morning light hits the front window. It is just a simple place where we try to have what people need for their homes.
